Captain Mike's Frozen Green Beans

Instead of an article this month, I decided to share this great recipe that came to us via www.myrecipes.com. My husband changed it by using frozen green beans since the deer jumped over the fence and chewed down all of our fresh ones. This easy vegetable recipe tastes just like home-grown summertime green beans, and you'll be glad you tried it.

  1. Place 12 ounces of frozen green beans in a large skillet and add 1/4 cup cold water.

  2. Bring beans to a boil over high heat, then cover and cook for 3 minutes.

  3. Uncover the pan and stir in 1 tablespoon of butter or olive oil, then cook for one minute or until all water evaporates and beans are crisp-tender.

  4. Sprinkle beans with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.

  5. ENJOY!
